2. Which legal basis applies to data processing?
We process your personal data in compliance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and all other relevant laws.
Individual / personal data you provide is typically used for the following purposes: technical administration of our website as well as answering your requests. If we obtain individual consent for processing of personal data, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR shall serve as legal basis for such processing. One example for this can be advertisement related appeals concerning “Your Idea”.
If the processing of personal data is necessary to safeguard our company’s legitimate interests and if the interests and / or fundamental rights and / or freedoms of the data subject do not outweigh our interest, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR shall serve as legal basis for processing of personal data.
In the processing of personal data necessary for pre-contractual measures or for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR may serve as legal basis. The processing of personal data takes place based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR if it is required to fulfill a legal obligation to which we as a company are subject. One example for this can be advertisement related appeals.
3. Which purposes apply to data processing, and where do data come from?
As a rule, your personal data is collected directly from you. We process personal data of our users only to the extent necessary to provide a functioning website and to provide the requested services. Whenever you access our website, our system automatically collects the following data:
Browser type, date and time of retrieval, files called, amount of data transferred and the information whether or not the retrieval was successful. In order to ward off attacks, we also store users’ IP addresses over a short time (Article 6 I lit. f GDPR). We exclude that this data is stored together with other personal data of the user.
It generally depends on the respective context in which data are collected and processed, but as a rule, the data processing is always limited to what is necessary for the purposes of processing (principle of data minimization). Let us give you the following examples:
Personal information such as your name, address, telephone number or e-mail address will be collected and used if you provide this information voluntarily, e.g. in the context of “Your Idea”.
If you use our contact form, details such as name, contact information, the inquiry as such together with eventual further information on your individual interests and choices will be collected and stored for the purpose of processing your request.
A transfer of data to third parties does not take place. This does not refer to service providers who support us in the performance of our duties and who furthermore signed data protection agreements in order to comply with data protection standards.
4. How long will data be stored?
Personal data will be deleted as soon as they are no longer necessary in relation to the purposes for which they were collected or otherwise processed. However, data may be stored in accordance with retention requirements based on national or European laws to which we as a company are subject.
Deletion of data also takes place when a retention period prescribed by the before-mentioned standards expires, unless there is a need for further storage of data, for example for the fulfillment of a contract.
5. How do we protect data?
Intedis is very serious about the protection of your personal data and we thus implemented professional technical and organizational measures to protect data. For example, access to your data will only be granted to staff members who are directly involved in processing your request. In addition, all external service providers have been carefully selected and contractually obliged to comply with the strict European data protection laws.
6. Are you required to provide data?
You can visit our website without having to make any specific entries. However, please note that the processing of your request without the provision of certain data (at least your contact information), is not possible. In certain (exceptional) cases, data is also collected and / or made available due to existing legal provisions we have to comply with.
7. Who gets your data?
Depending on the underlying purpose of data processing, personal data may also be passed on to our mother companies Hella GmbH & Co. KGaA and Leoni Bordnetz-Systeme GmbH and / or third parties, if and as far as this is necessary for the respective purpose. As already mentioned, data may also be shared with certain (external) service providers who work for us and who have all been contractually obliged to comply with data protection provisions.
8. Is data transferred to a third country?
This is not intended.

10. Do we use so-called tracking tools?
Based on our legitimate interests (Art. 6 I lit. f GDPR), we use certain tools and service providers who help us analyze and optimize our website, for example Google Analytics which is based on so-called cookies and provided by Google LLC (hereafter: Google).

The information generated by the cookie about your website usage is usually transmitted to and stored by Google on servers within the United States. IP-anonymization is active on this website, meaning that your IP address will be truncated.

11. Do we use social media (buttons)?
We use various social plugins for purposes of analyzing and optimizing our website in accordance with Art. 6 I lit. GDPR (legitimate interests), for example Facebook’s social plugin (Facebook Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbor, Dublin 2, Ireland) and other plugins.
Such plugins can display interaction elements or content and are clearly recognizable by the respective symbol / logo / button. When a user calls up a function of an online service that contains such a plugin, his / her device establishes a direct connection with the provider's servers.
This type of data processing may allow for the creation of user profiles. We would like to underline that we cannot influence the way / extent to which, for example Facebook, collects data with the help of such plugins. Instead, we inform our users in accordance with our knowledge:
By integrating social plugins in our website, for example Facebook and other providers receive the information that a user has accessed the corresponding page of the website. If the user is logged in to Facebook, Facebook can assign the visit to his Facebook account.
Whenever users interact with Facebook plugins, information is transferred to Facebook. Even if a user is not a member of Facebook, there is still the possibility that Facebook will find out his / her IP address. According to Facebook, in Germany only anonymous IP-addresses are used.
We would like to point out that Facebook certified under the so-called Privacy Shield, which ensures compliance with European Data Protection laws, see: (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt0000000GnywAAC&status=Active.
If a user is a Facebook member and does not want Facebook to collect data about him / her via this website and link it to his / her member data stored on Facebook, he / she must log out of Facebook and delete cookies before using our online offer.
We would like to inform you that, within your Facebook profile, you can change / adapt your individual settings / choices / preferences: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=ads. Please also take note the following pages that you can use to change corresponding settings:
You can use the US website http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or the following EU website: http://www.youronlinechoices.com/. The settings are platform independent, i.e. they are adapted for all devices, i.e. mobile devices and desktop computers.
12. Are services and contents of third parties integrated?
We use specialized services offered by third parties to analyze and optimize our website in accordance with Article 6 of the GDPR (legitimate interests). In this context, users’ IP addresses are collected and processed as this is a necessity for the presentation of third party content.
In addition, so-called pixel tags or web beacons may be used for statistical or marketing purposes. Corresponding pseudonymous information may then be stored in cookies on the users' device and, among other things, include technical information about the browser and operating system, etc.
This website also integrated functions / services / content offered by XING (XING AG, Dammtorstraße 29-32, 20354 Hamburg, Germany). The same applies to features and content provided by LinkedIn (LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland).
This may include content and buttons with which users can share content from this website with XING and LinkedIn. In the event that users are members of XING or LinkedIn, the platforms can assign the access to the above-mentioned contents and functions to the respective user profiles.
You can visit Xing’s and LinkedIn’s privacy policies at https://privacy.xing.com/en/privacy-policy and https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy. LinkedIn certified under the Privacy Shield, which ensures compliance with European data protection law.
13. Are there online presences in social media?
We maintain online social media presence to communicate with customers and interested parties to inform them about our company and our products and activities. This type of data processing takes place based on legitimate interests (Article 6 I lit. f GDPR) and may also be based on Art. 6 I lit. a., Art. 7 GDPR if users and / or interested parties have given us their consent to process their personal data for purposes we previously defined and communicated to them.
Please note that when using social media, users' data may be processed outside the EU, which may result in certain risks, for example because the enforcement of data subject rights could get more difficult, or because users' data may be processed for advertising purposes or for the creation and usage of user profiles.
Such profiles can be used to place advertisements inside and outside the platforms. Furthermore, data may also be stored independently of the devices used by the users.
